Snow Day!

The “Southwest Pod” of Catholic schools is always, always the last to announce closings. I was up to let the dog out at 6AM, turned on the tube and waited for the scroll to reach “s.” Not seeing our pod come up, I let the dog back in, informed the child to keep watch, then went back to bed.

By 6:45, there was youthful cheering and pumping of fists. After a nice warm breakfast of turkey omelette, crescent rolls, and juice, it was off to hit the slopes. Fun is now over for me; I have to get to work. One thing I do appreciate with parish work is the flexibility to snatch a few hours of family time on days like today.
