Adoption Friendly

The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, as announced by the Catholic News Service today, named New Jersey’s Diocese of Metuchen as one of the top-100 adoption-friendly employers in the nation. According to the foundation’s web page, the Metuchen Diocese offers up to $4,500 in financial assistance and up to four weeks of paid leave for an employee who adopts a child. That’s a pro-life witness we can all stand up and applaud.

My dear wife was an information gatherer extraordinaire during our adoption discernment, waiting, and now, our parenting days. There are tons of information out there on adopting children. There is a lot of help available: support groups, classes, financial aid, books, web pages. If any reader has the vaguest interest in adopting a child, feel free to contact me by e-mail or through the info listed on my parish’s web page. It would please me greatly to talk a qualified person into adopting a child.
