Statue

What to do in the “south niche?” had been a question for my parish before I arrived. On the south end of the nave, under the loft, we have two devotional areas. One has an icon of the Blessed Mother written for the 2000 renovation. The other had various displays, none permanent. Until this past weekend.

Click this link for our bulletin cover and a view of the new statue of our patron. I hope to get a color image posted on the site soon. I’ve also been privy to a fascinating oral history of the church, built in the 60′s before Vatican liturgical reforms and with a few surprises.
