A two-for-one today. The dismissal options given in RCIA 136 parallel the options after the Rite of Acceptance, blogged about here. Option A is particular to the circumstances:
My dear elect, you have set out with us on the road that leads to the glory of Easter. Christ will be your way, your truth, and your life. Until we meet again for the scrutinies, walk always in his peace.
If this is the bishop speaking, it’s not likely this “we” will meet again until after Lent.
RCIA 136 concludes, as does RCIA 67:
An appropriate song may conclude the celebration.
And RCIA 137 is lifted, word for word, from RCIA 68.
Commentary:
It is unusual for the Eucharist to be celebrated at the Rite of Election. In my experience, it’s always been a liturgy of the Word (or once, Vespers).
The “concluding song” remains a rarity. The rite doesn’t even specify an entrance song. Remember RCIA 129 started off with the homily.
