“Intervals” of silence are directed for particular moments:

34. Prayerful silence is an element important to the celebration of the funeral rites. Intervals of silence should be observed, for example, after each reading and during the final commendation and farewell, to permit the assembly to reflect upon the word of God and the meaning of the celebration.

Is the psalm a reading, do you think? In the sense that it provides an experience of the inspired word of God, I would think so. I would include the time after it as a prime moment for silence. Perhaps between the gospel reading and the homily, too. The rite suggests these are examples, not an exhaustive list, but this probably covers the main bases, along with the time following the post-Communion prayer. For the vigil, I would think a period of silence following any communal personal sharing would work as well.
