The community’s role:
240. The minister should invite members of the community to use their individual gifts in this ministry of consolation. Those who have lost children of their own may be able in a special way to help the family as they struggle to accept the death of a child.
The heart of ministry is service to others with the mind and attitude of Christ. This is one way in which liturgy and pastoral ministry are linked: the presence of Christ draws more closely to those who are in need.
