To their credit, some notable conservative commentators (like here, for example) have held their nose and turned their opposable digit toward the ground on the GOP applause for capital punishment. It will be interesting to see how the American Republibishops react. Not that anybody’s going to pay any attention, of course.
Another political day, another pep rally for corporate interests. But don’t bet the episcopacy will ever talk about who’s pulling the puppet strings–they’re still trying to upgrade from socks–pay no attention to the curial arm attached to your bishop!
