Concelebration, Apology, Change of Tone

We shall see how the tale of the supposedly-extravagant German bishop eventually resolves. The Vatican visitation ended with a concelebrated Mass today–the bishop and the cardinal-diplomat. And an apology from the embattled Bishop Franz-Peter Tebartz-van Elst:

The conflicts that erupted so openly and strongly in recent weeks have upset and angered many believers, not only in our diocese but in the whole country. I am very sorry for any carelessness or misjudgement on my part.

Reuters story here.

I wonder how frequent this kind of thing will be in the years to come. They could sure use this kind of an intervention in Kansas City.
