Another Saint Peter

Pope Francis set aside required miracle #2 for Pierre Favre, SJ, and named one of my favorite Jesuits a saint.

My favorite quote (blogged last week) from the man:

Seek grace for the smallest things, and you will also find grace to accomplish, to believe in, and to hope for the greatest things.

Interesting that Pierre Favre is the pope’s favorite Jesuit. From this interview earlier this year on what he admired most about the man:

[His] dialogue with all, even the most remote and even with his opponents; his simple piety, a certain naïveté perhaps, his being available straightaway, his careful interior discernment, the fact that he was a man capable of great and strong decisions but also capable of being so gentle and loving.
