Before The Snow

before the blizzard feb 2014Thunder is sounding in the skies above here. It’s a gray and dismal-looking day.

Weather reports have hail in places in Iowa. Some just started tapping on our windows. Little bitty pieces.

Other places to the west of us have thundersnow. That’s a weird and interesting experience, if you’ve never been in it.

Along the northern frontier of the state, they’ll be getting it a good bit worse. We’ll probably end up with ice under our few inches of snow.

Lots of snowmelt in our backyard, as you see, left. It will get covered up before long.

The young miss and her classmates are being ejected early from school today. I think we’ll have two hot home meals today. Nothing like a nice warm meal in a nice warm kitchen on a chill and dangerous day.

Stay safe, my friends.
