Harmony, Hope, and Healing

Good report on a Chicago woman forming and training choirs among the South Side’s homeless women. PBS’s Religion and Ethics Newsweekly has a text and video report here. Music director Marge Nykaza on her effort:

It’s not about am I a singer? It’s about using your instrument in a positive way. So many women have been silenced. So they don’t know their authentic voice, so they don’t recognize the beauty within themselves. And sometimes we get beautiful harmony, sometimes not. It doesn’t make a difference.”
