Do you or would you program patriotic hymns on or near national holidays? If any non-American armchair folks would weigh in to give us a perspective, it’d be appreciated.

Yes I would. However playing at the Marine base on Sunday it is pretty much a requirement and the chaplain wants an entrance and exit hymn for July 1st.
If I were at another parish I would add one say America The Beautiful or America it is something that must be added around our July 4th of course! Our country is founded on Judeo Christian principles and just a reminder of this at our liturgy too is an added benefit with the songs written for our country.
Where does it say we must leave out patriotism at our church? I don’t believe so. But know there is most likely people who want it left out too.
