Lumen Gentium 68

Some final reflections on Mary from the council in today’s and tomorrow’s last sections from Lumen Gentium:

V. Mary the sign of created hope and solace to the wandering people of God

In the interim just as the Mother of Jesus, glorified in body and soul in heaven, is the image and beginning of the Church as it is to be perfected is the world to come, so too does she shine forth on earth, until the day of the Lord shall come,(Cf. 2 Pet. 3, 10.) as a sign of sure hope and solace to the people of God during its sojourn on earth.

I don’t find this to be in conflict with the notion of her being subordinate to the Son of God, as I suggested earlier last week.
