We finish up Vatican II’s look at liturgical baptism with a point of liturgical trivia:

Except during Eastertide, baptismal water may be blessed within the rite of baptism itself by an approved shorter formula.

  1. So . . . this means during Easter Season, the water used for baptisms is not to be blessed in the liturgy of baptism, but — I infer — in Mass? I never noticed that . . .
