Compliant No Complaint

Just in case you were wondering about my diocese’s complaince with the USCCB Charter so cavalierly dismissed by another of St Blog’s favorite midwestern prelates, you might want to read this memo we received from the chancery the other day. If there was ever a worry that Bishop Finn isn’t committed to the safety of innocents, let this correct your concerns.

Congratulations to each one of you who made it happen in 90 of our 100 parishes! If you have parish children’s programs your staff started their first safety lesson and are poised at different stages of delivery of your children and youth safety programs. The auditor noted this and the Diocese has been issued a fully COMPLIANT status on all articles of the USCCB Charter for the Protection of Children and Youth!!!”

Thank you, thank you from Bishop Finn, Msgr. Murphy and ME for your response and cooperation in such a short period of time! The results will appear in the final yearly USCCB report that usually comes out in Feb. Your support and direction to your DRE’s and DYM’s was critical.

God bless each of you in your ministry to children and youth and for all you are doing to make this world a better place for our children to live. You are providing such an important piece of education in today’s society to parents and children.
