Wedding Mass Marriage Rite 30-32: Liturgy of the Eucharist

Not much in quantity is offered in the Rite’s notes on the Liturgy of the Eucharist. Those numbers referenced are part of the extensive appendix to the Rite of Marriage which provides readings, prayers, and various options.

30. The Order of Mass is followed, with the following changes. During the offertory, the bride and bridegroom may bring the bread and wine to the altar.

 

 

 

 

31. Proper preface (see nos. 115-117).

 

 

 

 

32. When the Roman canon is used, the special Hanc igitur is said (no. 118).

  1. I usually use it; but I didn’t remember the special “hanc igitur” right away.

    I let my celebrant know that I preferred EP 1, but left it to his discretion. We had EP2. I suspect he thought it would be too exotic for the Protestants attending; that, or he thought that a shorter liturgy would compensate for the addition of the rite of marriage…
