Postcards From Mars

Martian Rovers Spirit and Opportunity continue their intrepid exploration of Mars, having performed more than ten times longer than the original “warranty,” which was 90 days.

Just returned to the public library today was Jim Bell’s exceptional book Postcards From Mars. Aside from the pretty pictures of the Martian landscape as imaged by the two rovers, there’s a good story behind the design of the mission’s imaging components and some of the trials and adventures on the Red Planet. It’s a great book you’ll want to view over and over.
