Motumania: Dealing With Impatience

News items from this source are always suspect, especially when no links are provided, but apparently, the Ecclesia Dei Commission is impatient with bishops setting the local tone for offering opportunities for Mass under the 1962 form. New guidelines are on the way.

Hint to CWN: other bloggers bother to link the story. Why the bashfulness about Italian, I don’t know, unles their reporters can’t confirm a translation. The Rorate Caeli blog provides one; here’s the comment of Msgr Camille Perl of the Ecclesia Dei Commission:

(A)fter the Pope’s Motu Proprio, it was legitimate to expect contrasting reactions. Some have expressed enthusiasm, some have not. Nevertheless, it is enough to recall that the Motu Proprio did not come down from heaven, but is the result of a long path.
