See How They Love One Another

Another fine example or two of the ideological cannibalism all too prevalent on the internet. The posts themselves are decent, and well-thought-out (though they give quite a bit more credence to the whole reform2 project than it deserves). It’s the commentariat (as usual) that’s the problem.

This is why I think the traditional Catholic liturgy movement will pretty much remain a backwater:

  • The lack of charity will kill them. Literally.
  • They’ve bought into the culture of victimhood as surely as the targets of Bill Cosby’s frustration.
  • They persist in the culture of complaint: denigrating every choice other than their own.
  • As Lincoln said, a house divided and all that stuff.

Not to mention:

For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” But if you bite and devour one another take heed that you are not consumed by one another. (Galatians 5:14-15)

But avoid stupid controversies, genealogies, dissensions, and quarrels over the law, for they are unprofitable and futile. (Titus 3:9)
