Is it so surprising that many pro-lifers distance themselves from anti-abortion folks? The Vox Nova commentary on numerous threads the past day or two shows how widespread the emotional immaturity is. Some of the most passionate anti-abortion folks are harming the cause they claim to hold as of the utmost importance. And the sad thing is, I can’t really find any pro-choice commentators on the threads. (Though I’m open to correction on that point; I can’t say wading through several dozen exercises in angry semantics is an appealing research project.) Can you imagine what would hit the fan if some enterprising pro-choice group decided to invade with some decent arguments? Or their own brand of “charity?”
It’s almost as if the Republican-doubters have said, “I’m voting for Obama, I’m still going to receive Communion, and your bishop can’t stop me, nyah, nyah, nyah.”
