I went to bed right around the start of the speech, but my wife tuned in while loading the dishwasher. (The previous owner left a tv in the kitchen so we’re a two-tv family now.) Everybody’s dissecting the speech. Rod Dreher’s not voting for Michelle Obama. Glad we got that cleared up.
My prediction: it will be a lot harder for politicommentators to get back to normal after election day.
My sincere suggestion: what if everybody who’s already decided who they’re voting for shuts up between now and election day. After the R-convention next week, only undecideds can post or comment or pontificate. Blogs, tv, bishops, everybody.
