Carnival of Space 85

Cheap Astronomy hosts the 85th carnival. Maybe I’ll get my act together and put together some original posts soon. I’ve been enjoying the clear night skies here in central Iowa when I walk the dog late at night.

Ice, sleet and freezing drizzle have made our city like Enceladus under the ice geysers tonight. I had to maneuver halfway down the block to get the car into the driveway tonight. Our first attempt at pulling in the driveway resulted in a slide-by.

Above, the mysterious spokes appear like smudges on Saturn’s rings.
