Scandal of the Cross

Three comments on the brouhaha brewing with the president and Georgetown:

1. Is it true that Governor Palin advised the president’s staff on covering up backgrounds … I mean backdrops?

2. Will Catholic conservatives now protest the Lenten or Holy Week veiling of crosses in churches?

3. Relief that the White House nixed the Georgetown plan for a “Mission Accomplished” banner.

The real (and only) question is what offense was avoided by covering up the IHS?

Come on, Todd, this is at least as stupid as Ashcroft covering Liberty’s breasts. Only a Democrat partisan could not see this as a dumb request on the part of the White House (although some bloggers’ insinuations of evil top the covering for stupidity).

  2. Jimmy Mac says:

“The reason that there are no more freak shows is because we have become a society that has no place for freaks.” Christopher Lasch

Mr. Lasch is proven wrong day after day in the US and the RCC. Freaks abound!

  3. Tony says:

Georgetown only has two more “coverings” of the name of Jesus to catch up with St. Peter.
