Unity, Inappropriate Battlegrounds, and Apologies

As some raise the question about church unity or the spectacle that was once ND Commencement ’09, I’m starting to see protests from the protesters.

“The divide in the American Church exists because abortion is wrong.”

“It’s certainly a shame that Fr. Jenkins didn’t consider (the graduates whose commencement has turned into a battleground)”

Yikes. Have these people no sense of perspective?

I see Russ Shaw is trolling for an apology. I guess he’s taken the RNC talking points to heart and declared failure. Can I add that I’m sorry all those good and faithful Catholics, conservatives though they be, got thrashed in the American political process?

We still have 3.7 to 7.7 years to go. This would be sort of like assessing a preacher’s homily by the opening joke. Granted, it may tell you a lot about what is to come, but I have to say I haven’t been really surprised by anyone yet: either the president or the detractors.
