Busy weekend, but not in the way I had imagined it. My wife’s birthday got the festivities off to a nice start on Thursday. By Saturday morning I was in very bad shape. Two early Saturday litter boxes emptied into a garbage bag was pretty heavy, so one serious lower back strain later (“Dad, you look like the leaning tower of Pisa.”) I managed to sit up through a wedding yesterday, but took the rest of the weekend off, calling in the subs. After checking some e-mail this afternoon, one blogosphere news bit passed on:
Liam sent this link encouraging votes for the best Catholic speaker. Sheesh. And they complain about us progressives making it “all about us.”
I was reading a few online things Friday. Are the Legionaries really toast? I must have been asleep on this sort of news. It’s never good to see a large community of believers demoralized, so I’ll let the commentary stop there.
Rock (and others) note the CCCB going behind closed doors on “so-called Catholic” bloggers. From what little I read around St Blog’s, the Canadian bishops aren’t c0ncerned with Vox Nova, dotCommonweal, and America. They should be concerned about the furor whipped up against a well-regarded no-liberal priest. Conservative Catholics in lots of places are shrugging and playing innocent, but the lack of charity is obvious. Talk about a lack of a sense of sin.
