Round-the-Clock Angelus

From Kilmessan, Ireland, in the tradition of 24-hour confessions, we have an Angelus rung every five minutes by the parish church. It was a computer glitch of course. The excuse seemed a bit flimsy:

According to a spokeswoman for the village’s parochial house, an attempt was made on Sunday to repair what she said was “a very complicated system”.

Um … couldn’t they just pull the plug? Maybe there’s something to be said for a young lad or lass pulling on a rope.
