Good word from the pastor this weekend at Mass, who, when announcing tomorrow’s liturgy, said that while it is not a holy day of obligation in our diocese, it remains a holy day of opportunity. At 10:00 tonight at the church we’ll have another opportunity–an all saint’s vigil. It will be interesting to see what the student liturgy team devised for this. I gave them two options and I wasn’t consulted on particulars. Any plans for the holy day in your spiritual life?
about this site
Catholic Sensibility is a personal blog by a Catholic layperson with comments and occasional other writings by Catholics and non-Catholics. We make no particular claims to have the completeness of a Roman Catholic expression of Christianity. It contains opinion, interpretation, and personal musings. That’s it. Nothing official or authoritatively connected to the Magisterium.

I’ll be leading a small chant ensemble for a 7 p.m. mass. Everyone is curious what the attendance will be. At the pastor’s suggestion we plan to sing the Litany of the Saints. Seems like a good idea to me but I don’t recall doing it before on All Saints. Anyone else singing it?
I’ve used the Litany of Saints for entrance on All Saints for a number of years.
I’ve used it for the entrance on All Saints. I like to add the names of newly canonized saints. (Easy to do with the chant version.)
