Wah! No Polyester!

The usual St Blog’s suspects going after women religious. Aside from some spelling problems in the chain of command compliance, I’d say that Tom, Rich, and Jeff are just soreheads because the poster sister was wearing denim and a cotton T. Check those labels on your polos and dress shirts, guys: who’s wearing polyester now?

Here’s a clue: women’s religious orders don’t market to embittered conservative men in search of a sense of humor.

And they are clearly not marketing to young women who have an interest in serving the Lord in religious life. If these faithful Catholic bloggers are “soreheads”, perhaps it is because they lament the great loss of vocations among Catholic women due to the lamentable direction taken by these mis-guided congregations in the last few decades.

  2. Todd says:

So … if non-cloistered women religious are shooting themselves in the foot, why are these men using it as an occasion of ridicule or anger?

  3. DM Reed says:

I don’t think any of “these men” are using it as an occasion of anger, perhaps ridicule, but the poster is ridiculous, so the ridicule is appropriate.

  4. Todd says:

If so, I’m sure they won’t mind, in turn, if I poke a little at the Polyester Watch.

I sent that ad to Rich… The description of the sisters at “The Dome” are ” busying themselves rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic without realizing water is pouring in through the port-holes.”
I have two aunts that are members of the Sisters of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin, SASV…the averge age of their order is 79! Wonder why that is….?????
