Ordinaries, by the encouragement and favor they show to art which is truly sacred, should strive after noble beauty rather than mere sumptuous display. This principle is to apply also in the matter of sacred vestments and ornaments.
I suppose one could say he’s no longer an ordinary.

Well, his overalls are fancy, too. The gauntlets indicate he just got out of the woodshed.
Well, I’d say his vestments exhibit more noble beauty than most parish priests’ vestments (to say nothing of their churches) in the last thirty years or so.
Well, SOMEONE has to keep all of those little old nuns hovering over expensive cloth and weaving golden threads in the candle light until the wee small hours of the morning!
