Halfway Between Lent and Pentecost

Two Latin chants match up in today’s Violet Bracket round 2:

“Parce Domine” was a clear winner, 22-16 over “Hosea,” in a true Lent violet polling.

Here’s a nice contemporary setting by Joaquim dos Santos.

“Veni Sancte Spiritus” was the most convincing winner of the first round (36 votes to one) over “Let There Be Peace On Earth.”

Here’s a very nice contemporary setting by Arvo Pärt.

As for your polling choice? Vote however you wish: what has been, what is today, what may be.
