Archbishop’s Homily

Archbishop Jackels preached this evening, and I loved his structure, content, and his use of a very good speaking voice. He was somewhat soft-spoken, but another parishioner commented on his gravitas. He sang the presidential prayers. My wife liked that, too.

Otherwise, it was a struggle behind the scenes. The battery pack on the wireless mic was near zero–I neglected to check it before Mass. So we didn’t get his prayers very clearly on the video capture. Speaking of which, the young miss was up with the camera. But after a student had borrowed it earlier this week, I was texted two minutes into Mass:

He forgot to charge it so I’m only filming certain parts

Oh well. I can’t send 27 minutes of video to the public access channel for a 58-minute slot. Maybe one of the other videographers can get a better capture tomorrow.
