Abp Marini @ FDLC

Reform2 boogeyman Piero Marini spoke on Sacrosanctum Concilium yesterday in Erie, Pennsylvania.

The archbishop, and rumored CDWDS head-in-waiting:

The Constitution Sacrosanctum Concilium, more than being a manual for reforming rites, is a magna carta capable of inspiring the renewal of the Church.

What elements of SC do you think are material worthy of a “great charter” and go beyond the prescriptive to-do list?

Blogger Jerry Galipeau:

(T)he election of Pope Francis and the talk I just heard make me feel as if the windows that were thrown open at the Second Vatican Council are still open and the fresh air that is the Holy Spirit is breathing through our Church.

I will be interested in reading over the translation of the talk. But I feel the fresh breeze, no doubt.

Your restraint is to be admired. “Boogeyman” is perhaps the kindest term I might consider using.

  2. Liam says:

Let’s address HOW we come to discern issues that should be considered before we consider the issues themselves. Right now, our structures for discernment are dysfunctional. The process work is unglamorous and vexing, but jumping over it is not fruitful in the long run.
