Guitar great Paco de Lucia has died. One of his more memorable recordings was his live album with Al DiMeola and John McLaughlin. It’s amazing fun. Super fast, but that doesn’t necessarily make for great art. Check the man’s recordings for his flamenco stylings or his forays into jazz. That’s great art.

  1. Charles says:

A Night in San Francisco! One of the best and seminal fusions ever. Between Paco ‘s tradition and verve, with McLaughlin’s genius, they managed to coax DiMeola from athletics to inspiration. Losing Paco like losing Jaco.
