I have a facebook friend who thinks the War on Christmas is largely a fake these days. In the past, some conservatives took it upon themselves to make a personal fight in the season. But now, it’s mainly the liberals who are baiting the simple-minded, like with the Starbucks Pentecost Cups.

Commercialism, and the selling of product. Isn’t that what the main thing is? My fb friend got it right on one point: Christmas belongs in churches and in homes. Peace on that.

Reminds me of a Facebook share a few days ago, featuring a red Starbucks cup with a collage of a Christmas tree, a menorah, an Islamic star, something from Kwanzaa, and Donald Trump’s face. And the caption, “There! Is everybody happy? Now shut the “bleep” up!” Couldn’t help it, I had to laugh.
