The War On The War On Christmas

coyote carols in treeI have a facebook friend who thinks the War on Christmas is largely a fake these days. In the past, some conservatives took it upon themselves to make a personal fight in the season. But now, it’s mainly the liberals who are baiting the simple-minded, like with the Starbucks Pentecost Cups.

The ridicule is insightful here.

Christmas decorations not available in most stores until shortly before Halloween.

Did you know Starbucks has Advent calendars?

Commercialism, and the selling of product. Isn’t that what the main thing is? My fb friend got it right on one point: Christmas belongs in churches and in homes. Peace on that.

Reminds me of a Facebook share a few days ago, featuring a red Starbucks cup with a collage of a Christmas tree, a menorah, an Islamic star, something from Kwanzaa, and Donald Trump’s face. And the caption, “There! Is everybody happy? Now shut the “bleep” up!” Couldn’t help it, I had to laugh.
