194. The second challenge has to do with the priest’s ministry inserted in contemporary culture. The priest is called to be familiar with it in order to sow the seed of the Gospel within it, that is, so that the message of Jesus may become a valid, comprehensible, hope-filled, and relevant interpretation for the life of man and woman today, and particularly for youth. This challenge includes the need to suitably enhance the initial and ongoing formation of priests in its four dimensions (human, spiritual, intellectual, pastoral). (Cf. Pastores Dabo Vobis 72)
