The Aparecida bishops give their people fourteen proposals for ministries to the family. Three somewhat related topics in this post:
e) Foster and promote integral education of family members, especially those family members who are in difficult situations, including the dimension of love and sexuality.(Cf. Introductory Address 5)
I would hope the bishops are not discussing education only, a one-way stream of information. It is also about formation, the ability to apply the teachings of Jesus in concrete situations in the world.
f) Foster parish and diocesan centers with comprehensive family care ministry, especially to those that are in difficult situations: teenage and single mothers, widows and widowers, senior citizens, abandoned children, and so forth.
g) Set up programs of training, care, and accompaniment for responsible fatherhood and motherhood.
Responsible parenting requires experienced lay people in those parishes and diocesan centers.
