Book Challenge Day 6

I read this in graduate school. The cover mentions two other fine novels, and I could easily have selected Lost Horizon for this series. I recall reading that novel in one sitting on a cold Fall day in my college library’s reading room.

This book astonished me, and appealed a bit more to a sense of longing, loyalty, and the deep human instinct for hope. Maybe the semi-fantasy about Shangri-La is about that too.
