Christus Vivit 53: Saint Joan of Arc

We have covered this saint here before. My friend Crystal wrote of her and Fr James Martin’s regard for her here. There is no lacking of input on the woman. Perhaps that is why Pope Francis offers but a few words. Jeanne d’Arc certainly would remain high in cultural consciousness, thanks to films and even the stage

53. Saint Joan of Arc was born in 1412. She was a young peasant girl who, despite her tender years, fought to defend France from invaders. Misunderstood for her demeanor, her actions and her way of living the faith, Joan was burned at the stake.

Remember to check Pope Francis’ Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation on this link at the Vatican site.
