A few post-conciliar bishops forsook the mansion life, ending up in a nursing home, rotating parish rectories, seminaries, and even a humble apartment here and there. The culturewar shifted that focus a bit. It seems my new archbishop is bringing back the good ol’ days–good as I see them.
I think the days of bishops living in a manner that’s a lot nicer than the majority of their people live, those days are gone, and they should be.
I am a pastor, not a prince, and I want to live in a manner that’s more reflective of how my people live.
