Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2020, Day 6

Image result for christian unityWhat if your local church is doing nothing for Christian unity? Not this week. Not ever. It doesn’t mean any of us can’t reach out to a non-Catholic friend, take them out for lunch, coffee, or a beer. What would you say? I imagine this as a conversation starter:

I wanted to reach out person-to-person during Christian Unity Week. I wanted to say how much Jesus has meant to me and how I’ve found him as a Catholic. (Then say it in 2 minutes or less.) I’m interested if your experience has been similar in any way.

Catholic Online has a brief and simple prayer for the ending:

Eternal Father,
we praise you for sending your Son
to be one of us and to save us.
Look upon your people with mercy,
for we are divided in so many ways,
and give us the Spirit of Jesus to make us one in love.

We ask this gift, loving Father,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.
