A Man For This Season

If I were a movie producer, one project upon which I would embark is a remake of a film acknowledged to be dreadful.

I was deeply moved to see a community theatre production of this many years ago. Only recently did I realize there was a revival in this century. (Shows how up-to-date I am on musicals.)

While many are drawn to the fine strains of an impossible dream, I love even more the stirring opening.

Hear me, heathens and wizards
And serpents of sin–
All your dastardly doings are past!
For a holy endeavor is now to begin
And virtue shall triumph at last!
