It’s time for Chapter V – The Paths Of Mission. John Paul II begins with a Vatican II quote:
“Missionary activity is nothing other and nothing less than the manifestation or epiphany of God’s plan and its fulfillment in the world and in history; in this history God, by means of missions, clearly accomplishes the history of salvation.”(Ad Gentes, 9; cf. Chapter II, 10-18) What paths does the Church follow in order to achieve this goal?
There is no single one. It depends on the people, the missionary disciple, and the circumstances of the times.
Mission is a single but complex reality, and it develops in a variety of ways. Among these ways, some have particular importance in the present situation of the Church and the world.
