The Roman Missal provides five prefaces for a funeral or memorial Mass. These may also be chosen for the liturgy on November 2nd. For being super-brief, I don’t recall ever hearing it. The MR2 reads:

For as one alone he accepted death,
so that we might all escape from dying;
as one man he chose to die,
so that in your sight we all might live for ever.
The shorter composition rather highlights the awkward little words the new translation adds: for, so, as. The 1998 version is succinct in expressing the theme: Christ died so that we might live
