Absence

Liam may have been one of the few who noticed, but I took a few days.

Things are still very hot here in Minnesota. I’ve poked in on social media and my brother is a good bit more heated and profane about the murders of citizens. I certainly feel it, as well as the stewing pot of emotions of my neighbors and parishioners.

My wife and I also took a few days out to visit a vaca spot in our state. I don’t know where one would go these days to escape it. I certainly don’t want to. As a white man, my profile is such that a stop is rather unlikely.

My biggest almost-concern was a near miss with a shortened liturgy committee meeting, an early pick-up for the young miss at her job, who missed an ICE raid that took place minutes later. The restaurant reopened the second day after.

There may be some relief in the occupation soon. Let’s hope.

I heard the National Guard was deployed. Have they stopped ICE?

  2. The Fox says they were handing out coffee and donuts to protesters over the weekend. I’ve heard nothing since.
