NASA’s Sunscreen Plan

Fighting global warming with sunshades in space. Technovelgy.com‘s Bill Christensen asks:

Should I be worried that the government is actually thinking they need some sort of space-based fallback plan for the global warming problem?

… because NASA has actually funded a study that suggests that trillions (yes, Carl Sagan, that’s trillions, not billions) of two-foot screens could deflect solar energy away from the Earth.

I think it would be cheaper to go back to horses and buggies, no offense intended toward Roger Angel, optics expert from the University of Arizona.
